Mission San Diego de Alcalá

Founded in 1769, the Mission San Diego de Alcalá was the 1st of the mission churches in California. In 1931 it was rebuilt to what architects J. E. Loveless & J. Marshall Miller determined was what the 1813 church must have looked like.

Rancho Los Cerritos

John Temple bought the land on which Rancho Los Cerritos was built and constructed the two-story Monterey-style adobe in 1844 for his cattle operation headquarters. Jotham Bixby lived with his family in the adobe from 1866 to 1881.
