E. M. Stuart, volunteer president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, proposed a Walk of Fame in a 1953 proposal. A promotional unveiling of 8 stars was held on Aug 15, 1958, and the Walk, although not complete, was dedicated on Nov 23, 1960.

The Disneyland Theme Park Historic District was proposed in a part of the Cultural Resources section of the EIR for the DisneylandForward project. It identified three contributing structures, Main Street Railroad Depot, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Hungry Bear Restaurant, as well as the Pope House, the first building at the park, as a Historically Significant Structure.

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is an outdoor sports multi-purpose stadium in Exposition Park in Los Angeles. Conceived as a hallmark of civic pride, the Coliseum was commissioned in 1921 as a memorial to L.A. veterans of World War I.

In 1921, the City of San Diego set aside a permanent tract of land in Balboa Park initially to house the exotic animal exhibits abandoned after the 1915 Panama-California Exposition, creating the San Diego Zoo.

Wayfarers Chapel began as a dream of Elizabeth Sewall Schellenberg who lived on the Palos Verdes Peninsula in the late 1920s. The church, a memorial to 18th century Swedish philosopher Emanuel Swedenborg, was designed by Lloyd Wright.

Dedicated in 1929, the Madonna of the Trail statue in Upland is one of 12 identical statues placed by the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution along the “Old Trails Road” stretching from Maryland to California.
