Plaza Firehouse, in the heart of historic Los Angeles, was built in 1884. Fire House No. 1, as it is also called, was the 1st building in the city designed to house a crew of fire fighters, the Volunteer 38s, and their equipment.

The Rankin Building in Santa Ana was built in 1917 by Henry T. Rutherford under lease to John H. Rankin. It was the largest single dry goods establishment in the county and Orange County’s first instance of a modern department store.

The Coronado Boathouse is located on Glorietta Bay below the Hotel Del Coronado. It was built in 1887 as a sort of “practice round” before construction of the Hotel Del began later that year. It was repurposed as a restaurant in 1967.

The Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad station, commonly known as Claremont Depot, was built in 1927, replacing an 1887 wooden depot. It was designed by SF architect William H. Mohr in a mixed Mission-Spanish Colonial Revival style.

Built in 1924, the three-level glass-roofed shopping arcade of the Broadway-Spring Arcade Building in Los Angeles connects two 12-story office towers. It was built on the site of Mercantile Place, a small alley lined with retail shops.

The Santa Ana lodge of the Knights of Pythias built a 2-story facility in downtown Santa Ana in 1926 with retail spaces on the ground floor and a meeting hall used by the Knights of Pythias and the Grand Army of the Republic upstairs.

Lee House, built in 1890, is one of, if not the oldest standing residence in Claremont. The “Free Classic” Queen Anne is a modest, 1,826 sq. ft., 2-story residence that was moved about two blocks west from its original location around 1912.
