Knights of Pythias Hall
The Santa Ana lodge of the Knights of Pythias constructed a two-story facility in downtown Santa Ana in 1926. Local architect Godfrey Bailey designed the building in a Baroque influenced Spanish Colonial Revival style to complement the adjacent Broadway Theatre (demolished in 1991 after a fire). The building accommodated retail spaces on the ground floor and a meeting hall on the upper story. The Knights of Pythias and the Grand Army of the Republic used the upstairs meeting room, which was made available for other community events as well. Several eateries now occupy the ground floor spaces and the hall has been repurposed for events, meetings and collaborative workspaces. The Knights of Pythias Hall is in the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties and a contributor to the Downtown Santa Ana Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.
