Cascades
If you drive north on I5 out of the San Fernando Valley, you can’t miss the Cascades. Completed on Nov 5, 1913, it is the point where the LA Aqueduct symbolically enters the city to bring drinking water to the community.

Griffith Observatory
In December, 1912, Griffith J. Griffith offered the City of Los Angeles $100,000 for an observatory to be built on the top of Mount Hollywood. Construction finally began in June, 1933, and the Observatory opened to the public on May 14, 1935.

Anaheim Convention Center
Since it opened in July 1967, the Anaheim Convention Center has since undergone several cosmetic renovations and seven expansions, the most recent completed in 2017. It is the largest exhibit facility on the West Coast with almost 1.8 Million sq ft of exhibit and meeting space.

Point Fermin Lighthouse
Built in 1874, the Point Fermin Lighthouse was the first navigational light into the San Pedro Bay. The Stick Style Victorian structure is one of only a handful built in the style at that time, only few of which remain standing.

Pilgrim, Ocean Institute
The Pilgrim, a replica of the ship in “Two Years Before the Mast”, sank in its slip at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point on Sunday, March 29, 2020. It had been scheduled for repairs in January, but the shipyard was overloaded.

Huntington Beach Pier and Pier Plaza
In 1903, a wooden pier was built in Pacific City to attract people from the inland communities to this resort. Henry E. Huntington brought the Pacific Electric Railway to town in 1904, turning it into a recreational attraction for travelers on the line and the city was renamed Huntington Beach in his honor.

San Clemente Fishing Pier
The 1296 ft San Clemente Fishing Pier was originally built by city founder Ole Hanson in 1928. It is maintained by the PierPride foudation in cooperation with the City and the State of California Wildlife Conservation Board.
