Getty Villa

Established by J. Paul Getty in 1954, the Villa was renovated starting in 1997, reopening in 2005. It is “Roman-inspired architecture surrounded by Roman-style gardens” with more than 44,000 Greek, Roman & Etruscan antiquities.

Griffith Observatory

In December, 1912, Griffith J. Griffith offered the City of Los Angeles $100,000 for an observatory to be built on the top of Mount Hollywood. Construction finally began in June, 1933, and the Observatory opened to the public on May 14, 1935.

The Broad

The Broad is a contemporary art museum on Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles. The museum opened in September 2015 and is named for philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad, who financed the $140 million building.

Vincent Thomas Bridge

The Vincent Thomas Bridge is a 1,500-foot-long suspension bridge connecting San Pedro with Terminal Island. It opened in 1963, named for California Assemblyman Vincent Thomas of San Pedro, who championed its construction.
