Hershiser House
The historic Hershiser House was built for F. Joseph Hershiser and his wife, Evelyn, in 1933 in the prestigious Floral Park neighborhood of Santa Ana. The two-story residence is considered “a fine example of Spanish Revival architecture… with a subtle yet striking Art Moderne influence.” Hershiser was proprietor of the popular Joe’s Self-Serve Grocery in the Grand Central Market at 2nd and Broadway in downtown Santa Ana. He advocated for downtown development and improvement and was heavily involved in the Santa Ana Merchants and Manufacturers Association, anchoring the home firmly in local history. The Hershiser House is listed on the Santa Ana Register of Historic Properties and a contributing structure to the Floral Park Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.
