Hollywood Professional Building

The Hollywood Professional Building at the corner of Hollywood Blvd and Sycamore Ave is considered an excellent example of Neo-Gothic commercial design. The original 5-story building was designed by Richard D. King and constructed in 1924 to be an office building for Herman P. Rehbein. Called the Rehbein Building when it opened in 1925, it was sold in 1926 and renamed the Hollywood Professional Building. Toberman & Co. added 3 stories to the building as part of its acquisition in 1929-30. CIM Group acquired the building in 2004, repurposed it into a loft-style live/work complex named Seventy46, and sold it in 2013. The Hollywood Professional Building is a designated Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and a contributing property in the Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
