Heritage Museum of Orange County
The Heritage Museum of Orange County is a cultural and natural history center in Santa Ana. It covers nearly 12 acres with an historic plaza featuring the H. Clay Kellogg House and John Maag Farmhouse, both built in the 1890s, set amid floral gardens and citrus groves, the Gospel Swamp Farm and the Gospel Swamp Natural Area. Kellogg House has been a favored school field trip spot for over thirty years. Restoration of the Maag Farmhouse will provide space for museum archives, offices and exhibitions. Gospel Swamp Farm is growing over 40 different kinds of fruits, vegetables, and herbs on one acre. Volunteer students harvest and market the produce and learn about organic farming methods. The operational blacksmith shop, headquarters of the OC Blacksmith Guild, that burned down in July 2019, is being rebuilt.
