Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum
The birthplace and early childhood home of Richard Nixon, the 37th President of the United States, is located on the grounds of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda. The house was built in 1912 from a mail-order construction kit by Francis A. Nixon, on ranchland owned by the family. The property had been purchased by the Yorba Linda School District, but was deeded back to the nonprofit library organization that Nixon founded in 1968 after his first election. It became part of the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace, a private facility that was dedicated on July 19, 1990. On July 11, 2007, the National Archives, with the approval of Congress, established the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in the facility.
