Designed by architect Richard Meier, Getty Center opened in 1997. The Getty Museum’s 6 buildings house J. Paul Getty’s extensive art collection. It is also home of Getty Research Institute, Getty Conservation Institute & Getty Foundation.

Crystal Cove State Park was previously owned by the Irvine Company where James Irvine II allowed friends, family and employees to build cottages. The historic district contains 46 beach cottages from the 1920s and 30s.

Mission San Juan Capistrano, the Jewel of the Missions, was founded by Junipero Serra in November, 1776, as the 7th of 21 Spanish missions established in California. Its Great Stone Church was destroyed by an 1812 earthquake.

The Mother Colony House, the oldest remaining wood-framed building in Orange County, was built by George Hansen in 1857. Hansen, a Los Angeles surveyor, was hired to survey and create the vineyard colony that became Anaheim.
