The Del Prado Gateway Arch in Dana Point, dedicated in 2015, commemorates the city’s history from novelist Richard Henry Dana to developer Sidney Woodruff whose Dana Point Lantern District promotion brought interest to the area.

The Pilgrim, a replica of the ship in “Two Years Before the Mast”, sank in its slip at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point on Sunday, March 29, 2020. It had been scheduled for repairs in January, but the shipyard was overloaded.
