Construction of El Miradero (The Overlook), the mansion built by Glendale pioneer Leslie Coombs Brand, was completed in 1904. The design was inspired by the East Indian Pavilion at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

The Casa Adobe de San Rafael was built in 1865 by Tomás Sanchez, first Sheriff of Los Angeles, and Maria Sepulveda. The family lived in the home until his death in 1882. It was restored by the City of Glendale in 1932.

Once a well known landmark in Glendale, the Doctors’ House and Gazebo now sits, as restored, in Brand Park. It was the successive home to four well known doctors and is now a museum operated by the Glendale Historical Society.
