Centinela Adobe was built in 1834, serving as base of operations for Rancho Aguaje de la Centinela. It was among the land purchases made by Robert Burnett in the 1860s that were bought by Daniel Freeman, the “Father of Inglewood” in 1885.

Manuel Dominguez began construction of the Dominguez Ranch Adobe in 1826. It is located on its original site, now in Compton, surrounded by 15 acres of extensive lawns, gardens, palms, and trees. It was opened as a museum In 1976.

On Sept. 1, 1772, Fr. Junipero Serra celebrated Mass with a cross erected by San Luis Creek, founding Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa. The Church and Priest’s residence was built by 1794. The mission was thoroughly restored in the 1930s.

The Mentzer House is a small Eastlake style Victorian house in Burbank. It was built by the Providencia Land, Water and Development Company in 1887. Of the 30 houses planned by the company, it is one of only six or seven that were built.

Emigdio Ortega built Ortega Adobe in 1857 on Main Street on the west side of Ventura. Emilio, Emigdio’s son, had a unique hobby, collecting and growing chilis. He transformed a New Mexica pepper that became known as an Ortega Chili.

Rancho Guajome Adobe is an historic 1850s hacienda located in Vista. The 7,000+ square foot adobe served as the headquarters of Rancho Guajome, a Mexican land grant carved out of the holdings of Mission San Luis Rey.

This rare example of an Art Moderne style building in Palm Springs was built in 1935. Originally Simpson’s Radio & Frigidaire Company, the Cork’n Bottle liquor store occupied it from 1950 to 2016.
