Mentzer House

The Mentzer House is a small Eastlake style Victorian house in Burbank. It was built by the Providencia Land, Water and Development Company, a partnership of speculators who founded Burbank, in 1887. Of the 30 houses planned by the company, it is one of only six or seven that were built and one of three still standing. It was moved once in 1920 before being moved to its current location on Olive Avenue in 1977. It was moved and restored by the Burbank Historical Society and now serves as an entrance to the Gordon R. Howard Museum Complex. All the rooms are decorated with authentic period furniture dating from the late 1800s to the 1930s with displays and artifacts about life in Burbank’s past.
