The Santora Building occupies almost half an acre in the heart of the Santa Ana Arts District. Frank Lansdowne designed it in 1929 in the Spanish Renaissance Revival style with notable Churrigueresque ornamentation and ornamental ironwork.

Rómulo Pico Adobe in Mission Hills, also referred to as Andrés Pico Adobe, grew from a one-room structure built in 1834. It is unclear that Andres ever lived in it, but in 1874, Catarina and Rómulo Pico married and moved in.

Rancho de los Quiotes, now the Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park in Carlsbad, was built between 1937 and 1940 by actor Leo Carrillo as a retreat and working ranch in in tribute to his family who arrived in California in the 1700s.

The Catalina Verdugo Adobe, one of the oldest structures in Glendale, is located on a small undeveloped parcel that was part of Rancho San Rafael that was granted to José María Verdugo. The commonly held date of construction is 1828.

Mission San Fernando Rey de España in Mission Hills was founded by Father Fermín Lasuén on September 8, 1797. It was the 17th of the 21 Spanish missions established in Alta California. Today the mission grounds function as a museum.

A breezeway used for deliveries running through the middle of the Bullock’s store complex bounded by Broadway, 6th, Hill & 7th in Los Angeles, dubbed St. Vincent’s Place, made for an appealing, shaded spot that took on a life of its own.

Morro Rock, the ‘Gibraltar of the Pacific,’ is undeniably the most distinctive and recognizable landmark of Morro Bay. The 576 foot tall rock at the mouth of the harbor is a volcanic plug that formed about 23 million years ago.
