Long Beach Dairy and Creamery

The Historic Long Beach Dairy and Creamery, as it is generally known and promoted, or the Pressburg Residence, as it is listed as a City of Long Beach historical landmark, is one of the oldest homes, perhaps the oldest extant structure in North Long Beach. The 2 1/2-story Victorian house was built circa 1905 and served as the house for dairy men that ran the Long Beach Dairy and Creamery in 1911 until the outfit was moved downtown. As described in the City designation announcement, “This house recalls the rural agricultural community that was its environment when it was built… This area then consisted of farms and was known as the California Cooperative Colony Tract.” It has been owned since 1983 by Dan Pressburg who was recognized as 2022 Preservationist of the Year by Long Beach Heritage.
