Casa Laguna Hotel
Frank Miller selected Arthur Benton to design the original Mission Inn in Riverside. He also selected Benton to design a private, oceanside summer home in what would become Laguna Beach for his wife, Marion, in the 1920s. Artists in the 1930s and 40s sought out the property, drawn by the well-established artist-friendly environment in Laguna Beach. Some of the buildings were incorporated into the Casa Laguna Hotel that opened in 1946. The hotel was converted into a B&B in 1977. In 2000, the property was purchased and renovated by Francois Leclair, restoring the Mission-style buildings and earning it “Registered Historic Structure” status from the City of Laguna Beach. It was purchased in 2014 by PRG of Santa Monica and underwent a major redesign by designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard in 2016, transforming it into the boutique hotel it is today.
