Reagan Federal Building
The 10-story Ronald Reagan Federal Building and United States Courthouse in downtown Santa Ana was designed by Debra Gerod and Kelly Davis of ZGF, with Gruen Associates serving as the Executive Architect. With more than 600,000 sq ft, the building houses the US District Court, US Bankruptcy Court, Magistrate Court, and various court-related agencies, as well as offices for federal executive agencies, the US Marshals Service and the US Marine Corps. Construction of the Federal building started in 1995 as part of downtown Santa Ana redevelopment efforts in the mid-1990s. Construction was completed in late 1998 and the building opened to the public in January, 1999. Building Owners and Managers Association named it The Outstanding Building of the Year® (TOBY) – Federal Building Category – in 2004, 2005 and 2007.
