The Woodruff, Dana Point, Orange County

The Woodruff

The Woodruff was a complex built for and used by developer Sydney H. Woodruff to promote his ambitious development of Dana Point. The extant building of the complex, now occupied by Danman’s Music School and StillWater Spirits & Sounds, was built in the Spanish Colonial Revival style in 1928. It is considered the original Dana Point Community Center, an auditorium used by Woodruff for promotional presentations as well as other community events. According to a marker by the building, it has had various uses since including a warehouse, a garage and an antique shop. In 2014, the Dana Point Historical Society nominated StillWater to receive the Historical/Cultural Preservation Award from the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce. The original Dana Point Community Center is listed on the Dana Point Historic Resource Register.
