Eagles Building

Located on the corner of Garnet Street and Catalina Avenue in Redondo Beach, the former Fraternal Order of the Eagles Building was constructed in 1949. With its sleek lines and smooth curves, the former lodge illustrates clear traits of Art Deco and Streamline Moderne architecture. The two-story, 16,000-square-foot building was purchased in July 2011 by the M.A. Center, an all-volunteer charitable group. The Fraternal Order of Eagles signs were removed after the sale. Renovation started in 2013 to repair water damage, remove asbestos and make the building compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act. The exterior of the building has been rehabilitated and kept intact. The M.A. Center, promoted as the Catalina Room, is primarily a special event and wedding venue.
