Segerstrom Center For The Arts
The Segerstrom Center for the Arts (originally called Orange County Performing Arts Center) was conceived in the late 1960s. By the mid-70s, the Center had its site: a five-acre parcel of land donated by the Segerstrom family. Construction began in 1983. Segerstrom Hall and Judy Morr Theater, designed by Charles Lawrence, were completed in late 1986. Segerstrom Concert Hall, Samueli Theater and Dodge Education Center, designed by Argentine architect César Pelli, opened in 2006. Argyros Plaza, completed in 2017, reimagined the existing Arts Plaza into a welcoming public gathering place. The Orange County Museum of Art broke ground on a new primary facility on the campus in late 2019, opening on October 8, 2022. The Center is the artistic home to three resident companies: the Pacific Symphony, Philharmonic Society of Orange County and Pacific Chorale.
