Irvine Katie Wheeler Library
The Lady in Blue, an unidentifiable tall man and apparently sourceless singing have been reported on the site of the Irvine Ranch Historic Park for years. These experiences have centered on the Irvine Katie Wheeler Library, a faithful recreation of James Irvine II’s ranch house, known as “The Mansion,” that burned down in 1965. In 1920, Kathryn Helena Irvine, James’s daughter and mother of Katie Wheeler, died due to issues during childbirth in the Irvine Ranch House. Reports say the lady in a blue dress who has been seen in the bookshelf aisles of the library is Kathryn. The mysterious tall man is believed to be Kathryn’s father, James.
