Ames-Westbrook House
This 1888 Queen Anne Style home in Riverside, referred to as the Ames-Westbrook House, was first owned by Samuel A. Ames, Pony Express rider turned local citrus baron. The home is better known for long time residents John R. Westbrook, a local business man, and his wife, Lucy. The privately owned home has been completely restored and modernized under the watchful eye of the City of Riverside and the Historical Society. Despite modernization, much of the decorative woodwork is original as are the six fireplaces with their beautiful carved mantels. It remains landmark #108 for the Cultural Heritage Board of the City of Riverside.
