Cascades
If you drive north on Interstate 5 out of the San Fernando Valley, you can’t miss the Cascades. Completed on November 5, 1913, it is the point where the Los Angeles Aqueduct symbolically enters the city. The aqueduct was built under the supervision of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s Chief Engineer William Mulholland to bring drinking water to the community from the Owens Valley, 200 miles away. It is designated as a California Historical Landmark.
