Partners Frank Alexander & James Oviatt hired Los Angeles architectural firm of Walker & Eisen to build a 12-story headquarters for their sales shop (now the Cicada Club), rentable office space and a 10-room penthouse suite for Oviatt.

The original building of The Central Library in Los Angeles, the Goodhue Building, opened in 1926. The Los Angeles Conservancy grew out of efforts to preserve it when overcrowding and deterioration threatened its demolition.

Rómulo Pico Adobe in Mission Hills, also referred to as Andrés Pico Adobe, grew from a one-room structure built in 1834. It is unclear that Andres ever lived in it, but in 1874, Catarina and Rómulo Pico married and moved in.

Mission San Fernando Rey de España in Mission Hills was founded by Father Fermín Lasuén on September 8, 1797. It was the 17th of the 21 Spanish missions established in Alta California. Today the mission grounds function as a museum.

H.L. Gumbiner moved from Chicago to Los Angeles in the early 1920s and acquired two theatres on Broadway. He gave architect S. Charles Lee the commission to design the Tower Theatre, replacing the Garrick at 8th and Broadway.

The Agfa Ansco Corporation built a new office, warehouse and film storage facility in 1937 on Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood. It was designed by architect T. H. Pettit in a remarkable blend of Art Deco and Streamline Moderne styles.

The thirteen-story Wilshire Professional Building in Los Angeles was designed in the Zigzag Moderne style by noted architect Arthur E. Harvey and built by developer Luther T. Mayo Inc. in 1929 for Preston Wright and Associates.
