Samy’s Camera

Samy’s Camera has occupied this classic Art Deco office building on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles since 2002. It was designed by Austin & Ashley, a short-lived team that nonetheless made their mark as designers of Griffith Observatory.

The Trojan

The Trojan, popularly known as Tommy Trojan, was sculpted by Roger Noble Burnham. The statue was unveiled during USC’s 50th Jubilee in 1930. Burnham’s primary models were All-American USC football players Erny Pinckert & Russ Saunders.

Christiansen and Grow Filling Station

This singular building, originally the Christiansen and Grow Filling Station, at the corner of Main and Palmyra in Orange, was built circa 1928 along State Highway 101 which connected Los Angeles with San Diego. It is the oldest remaining gas station in Orange and one of only four pre-1930s stations in Orange County.
