Harford Pier, Port San Luis, Avila Beach, San Luis Obispo County

Harford Pier

John Harford built the Harford Pier in 1873 on the western side of San Luis Obispo Bay about 1 1/2 miles from the town of Avila Beach. The 1320-foot pier is a working pier with a seafood company on it and a boat launch adjacent to it.

Briar Rose Winery

Beldon Fields, a Disney Imagineer, purchased land in Temecula in the 1970s and built a stately, intricately detailed storybook replica of Snow White’s cottage for his wife, Sallee Ann, preserved now as the Briar Rose Winery.
