The architectural firm of Armet and Davis and Googie style go hand in hand. Their design for Bob’s Big Boy Restaurants was used in numerous locations including the one on Harbor Blvd., now a CoCo’s, in Garden Grove in Orange County.

The Santa Margarita Ranch House National Historic Site on Camp Pendleton includes the Ranch House, Bunkhouse Museum and Ranch House Chapel. The ranch house, constructed ca. 1827, serves as quarters for Pendleton’s commanding officers.

In 1889, Mercedes Pujol donated land on which the city of Temecula constructed its 1st school building in what is now Old Town: a classic 1-room, frontier-style schoolhouse. The building served the families of Temecula for over 25 years.

William Wrigley Jr., who bought a controlling interest in Catalina Island in 1919, died at the age of 70 in 1932. Commissioned by his wife, Ada, after his passing, construction of the 80 foot tall Wrigley Memorial was completed in 1934.

Oakley unveiled plans in January 1996 for its new “interplanetary corporate headquarters” to be located on 40 acres in Foothill Ranch. The $35 million facility had “the look and feel of a post-industrial age gone awry.”
