Walter Muckenthaler moved to SoCal in the early 20th Century. He & his wife commissioned architect Frank Benchly to design & build their 18 room Mediterranean style mansion, the Muckenthaler House and Gardens in Fullerton, in 1923.

The 1300+ seat auditorium at Fullerton Union High School was a Works Progress Administration project. The 75′ x 15′ mural “Pastoral California” on its west side was restored in 1997, after being covered by paint for 56 years.

In 1887, George & Edward Amerige arranged to buy 430 acres of land north of Anaheim and on July 5, Edward drove a stake in a field at what is now the corner of Harbor Blvd & Commonwealth Ave, and the town of Fullerton was born.

Built in 1941 by the Army Corps of Engineers to protect “the towns of Fullerton, Placentia & Anaheim, & the highly developed agricultural area from floods,” the Fullerton Dam was designed to retain up to 751M gallons of water.

Built by Brown Street Clock Company in 1905 for $150, this clock was installed for Stalmer’s Jewelers around 1910. Billie Stedman bought Stalmer’s in 1928 and moved the clock with his business to its present location in 1940.
