Great Pacific Iron Works

Built in Ventura in 1923 for the Hobson Brothers Meat Packing Company, the Mission Revival building became Chouinard Equipment’s first retail store in 1973. It is now Patagonia’s flagship store after the clothing company was spun off in 1985.

In 1928, the Board of Deacons of the First Baptist Church in Ventura commissioned Hollywood-based architect Robert Stacy-Judd to design what was the first ecclesiastic building embodying Mayan architectural forms & art motifs in the US.
