In 1926, Sydney Woodruff, backed by the Dana Point Syndicate, purchased 1400 acres, which included a previous developerment, improved the roads and tracts laid out by the previous developers and by 1928, houses had started to appear.

A new building for the Fullerton Library, funded by the WPA, was completed on Christmas Eve of 1941. The library moved to a new location in 1973 and the building was repurposed, changing its name to the Fullerton Museum Center in 1985.

Originally only half an acre, Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego was proclaimed a national monument in 1913 by President Woodrow Wilson. Today, expanded to about 144 acres, it is under the care of the National Park Service.

The Aquarium Café was built in 1931 in the North Beach area of San Clemente. Designed by L.C. Smith in the Spanish Colonial Revival style, the restaurant had 4 large aquariums, 2 fresh water, 2 salt water, filled with fish and sea life.

The Monrovia Historical Museum occupies the 8,000 sq ft building that served as the lobby and locker rooms for the Monrovia Municipal Plunge built in Recreation Park in 1925. The pool closed in 1983, the museum opened in 1992.

Designed in a combination of Craftsman (mostly inside) and English Tudor styles, the Glen Tavern Inn in Santa Paul was completed in 1911 and opened with 32 bedrooms, a modern kitchen and dining room, a large lobby and a writing room.

Full title to the Mission Beach Amusement Center, built by John Spreckels in 1925, was given to the City of San Diego in 1939. The name was changed to Belmont Park in 1954 when the City negotiated a twenty-year lease with Jack Ray.
