The main building of the Kern County Museum in Bakersfield was designed by Charles Biggar in 1927, completed in 1928 and opened as the Kern County Chamber of Commerce in September 1929. The museum took over the building in 1952.

The Balboa Pavilion on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach was built in 1905 by the Newport Bay Investment Company. The Pavilion was the southern terminus of the famous Red Car Line with the first car rolling in on July 4, 1906.

The Kern Branch or Baker Street Library was constructed with bonds voted by the people of Bakersfield. The building, designed by Orville Lee Clark, was finished on July 7, 1915, with a capacity for 30,000 books, and 200 magazines.

Edgar D. Goode’s work for the incorporation of the city of Glendale earned him the title of the “Father of Glendale.” Edgar and his wife, Alletia, purchased a house on N. Cedar, just a few short blocks from the center of town, in 1897.

The Santa Ana-Tustin Young Men’s Christian Association building was described as a veritable “hall of health” and a “character-building center” for boys and young men in the newspaper articles that heralded its opening on April 25, 1924.

Fullerton Municipal Airport is the only general aviation airport in Orange County still in its original location. It can trace its origins to 1913 when barnstormers and crop dusters used the former pig farm as a makeshift landing strip.

The Riverside Municipal Auditorium in Riverside opened on November 12, 1928. Frank Miller, owner of the Mission Inn, deeded the land to the city with the stipulation that the property be “maintained in perpetuity” as a Soldiers Memorial.
