Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church

The Catholic Church bought 4 lots on the Balboa Peninsula of Newport Beach and built a small wooden church in which, in 1924, the parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was established. The present church and rectory were built in 1950-51.

Loring Building

Charles Morgridge Loring, a Minneapolis businessman, spent his winters in the Riverside area in the late 1800s. In 1889, he commissioned Riverside architect A.C. Willard to design a three-story office block with an adjoining opera house.
