Spreckels Mansion

John D. Spreckels bought five acres of land overlooking Glorietta Bay across from the Hotel del Coronado for the mansion where Spreckels and his family lived when they moved to San Diego. It was completed in 1908 at a cost of $35,000.

Millard Sheets mural "Pleasures Along the Beach", Orange, Orange County

“Pleasures Along the Beach”

Millard Sheets’ 40-by-16-foot “Pleasures Along the Beach” mosaic mural has been installed at the Hilbert Museum of California Art in Orange as the artist envisioned. Sheets created the mural for the Santa Monica Home Savings in 1969. It was restored by Brian Worley who worked on the mosaic as an intern in 1969. The finished mosaic was unveiled on January 30, 2024.

Jamestown Village

Jamestown Village, a shopping center in Old Town Tustin, was built by Claude T. Gilbreath in two stages starting in 1960, ending in 1962. A feature of the shopping center is the Little Tree Church that was built around an old oak tree.
