Lee House
Lee House, built in 1890, is one of, if not the oldest standing residence in the city of Claremont. The “Free Classic” Queen Anne is a modest, 1,826 sq. ft., 2-story residence that was moved about two blocks west from its original location around 1912. The few sources with details about this house agree that it was built for Miss Elizabeth O. Lee. They do not agree about her being a music student at the recently-opened (1887) Pomona College as the few female students at the time resided at Sumner Hall. In 1985, the house was bought by Claremont Graduate University professor Robert Williamson and his wife, Marie. They rehabilitated and restored the house themselves over the next 30 years. Some sources refer to it as the Williamson House, but you need to search for “Historic Lee House” if you want to find it on Google maps.
