Bluff Park Historic District, Long Beach, Los Angeles County

Bluff Park Historic District

On July 20, 1982, the Bluff Park Historic District became the second neighborhood to be given historic landmark status by the City of Long Beach. Historically, the district is a residential neighborhood with no businessses, churches or public buildings. Residents of the neighborhood played a key role in the initiation of the city’s historic preservation movement. The district, a nine block stretch from Junipero Ave to Loma Ave between Ocean Blvd and 2nd St, consists mainly of homes built between 1903 and 1949. A variety of architectural styles including Colonial Revival, Mediterranean, Tudor and Prairie are represented, however, Bluff Park is definitely known for its gorgeous Craftsman Bungalows.
