City Plaza Tower
The City Plaza Tower in Orange is a landmark in the true sense of the word. The 18-story tower, clearly visible from CA-22, rises rather starkly out of the parking area at the south end of The Outlets of Orange. It was built in 1969-70 and remains the 3rd tallest building in the city of Orange. Minoru Yamasaki & Associates designed the structure in the International style used extensively for high rise office towers. Despite its central location near I-5, CA-22 and CA-57, 363,307 square feet of office space, prominent tenants like Kikkoman, Mass Mutual, and Owning Corp., and major renovations in 1999 and 2021, the building has had its share of financial issues and ownership changes.
