Disneyland Reopening
The Disneyland gates were opened to the general public for the first time in 412 days on April 30. Attendance was (and will be for the foreseeable future) managed by a new ticket and reservation system, limiting capacity to conform with state COVID-19 guidelines for amusement parks. While parts of Disney California Adventure have been open for shopping and dining since early November, all of the park was also opened at reduced capacity. Some rides and attractions are not operating because C19 protocols cannot be effectively followed or refurbishment is in process, but it was obvious that it didn’t matter. The reopening of Southern California’s (arguably) best known landmark is a long-awaited change celebrated by Disney fans around the world.
