Hillcrest Park
The land that is now Hillcrest Park in Fullerton has served many purposes from a car park to a dynamite storage location, a dairy operation, barley fields to the City’s largest and most significant park. The land was purchased by the City of Fullerton in the 1920s and, with the assistance of the WPA in the 1930s, was transformed into a “great park”. The park was designed by Bavarian-born horticulturist Johann George Seupelt. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for both its historical importance to the development of the city and its distinctive landscape characteristics.
