Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History
The Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History in Los Angeles originated from William Miller Bowen’s 1909 fight to convince the State, County, and City to develop the existing agricultural park as a cultural center. The original structure was designed by local architects Frank Hudson and William A.D. Munsell and construction started late in 1910. On November 6, 1913, Exposition Park and the new museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of History, Science, and Art, opened formally to the public. Since then, it has grown into a hub of science, culture, nature and visitor-friendly amenities, adding the Dinosaur Hall in 2011 and the outdoor Nature Gardens in 2013. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
