Manhattan Beach Pier

The Potencia Townsite Company bought the waterfront property and completed the first Manhattan Beach pier in 1897. It was replaced in 1920 after storms destroyed it in 1913-14 and again in 1992 after storms damaged it in 1988. It is the oldest concrete pier on the West Coast and a California Historical Landmark.
