YMCA Building, Riverside, Riverside County

YMCA Building

The YMCA Building, designed in the style of an Italian Renaissance palazzo, was built in 1909. It was the second YMCA building in Riverside. Vacated in 1968, it was purchased and refurbished in 1974 by Bent Corydon for use as a Church of Scientology Mission. Corydon left the Church a few years later and in 1992 won a ten year legal battle for ownership of the building. It is now owned by Life Arts Center Incorporated of which he is president. It is a City of Riverside Cultural Heritage Landmark.
