The Green Dog & Cat Hospital is one of the oldest continuously operating purpose‐built pet hospitals in Los Angeles. Jules Koppel designed Green’s building in an exuberant Art Deco style for high visibility along the busy Slauson Avenue.

Firestone Tire & Service Center on La Brea Ave has been in continuous operation since 1938. Firestone’s new flagship building is the sleek product of twentieth-century Machine Age design and was considered ultra modern when constructed.

Almost as soon as the Fairfax Theatre in Los Angeles opened on March 26, 1930, it became the center of the developing Jewish community’s social life as an entertainment and fundraising venue and commercial center with shops and markets.

Dedication ceremonies for the sixth City Hall in Los Angeles were held on April 26, 1928. The concrete in its tower was made with sand from each of California’s 58 counties and water from its 21 historical missions.

The mural on the historic Aquarius Theater in Hollywood was originally painted for the opening of Hair, and the theater, in 1968. It was repainted by Quentin Tarantino for his film “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.”

Carroll Avenue is a street in Angelino Heights, one of the oldest neighborhoods of Los Angeles, located just a mile from downtown. The street, particularly the 1300 block, has the highest concentration of Victorian houses in Los Angeles.

When Stimson House, a 3-story, 30-room Richardsonian Romanesque mansion in what is now the University Park area, was completed in 1891, the L.A. Times described it as “the costliest and most beautiful private residence in Los Angeles.”
