The Regal Shoes Building on Hollywood Blvd was designed by the renowned Los Angeles architectural team of Walker and Eisen. The two-story building, constructed in 1939, is a quintessential example of the Streamline Moderne style.

Dating to 1893, the Streetcar Depot near Pershing and Dewey in West LA was on the Sawtelle Veterans Home grounds. The building originally stood a few blocks away, near the end of Southern Pacific’s Soldier’s Home branch line.

Here’s one literally from the record books. The world’s largest plow, manufactured by Charles R. “Hap” Post and Norman R. Post in 1937, is sitting in a small lot full of weeds on Brookhurst just north of McFadden in Westminster.

The 876-seat Bruin Theater in Westwood Village, designed by the renowned S. Charles Lee in the Streamline Moderne style for Fox West Coast Theaters, opened on New Year’s Eve 1937. It closed on July 25, 2024, when its lease expired.

Stoney Point is a prominent sandstone outcropping of the Chatsworth Formation in the northwest corner of the San Fernando Valley. The 22-acre City of Los Angeles Stoney Point Park established in 1982 has since expanded to 76 acres.

Holmby Hall, built in 1929, was the first shop building in Westwood Village. The building is comprised of 5 two- and three-story segments anchored at the southeast corner by a 110-foot tall octagonal clock tower.
