The first Santa Fe Railroad Depot in San Dimas opened in 1889, but was destroyed by fire in 1933. The current building replaced it in 1934 and operated until 1961. The building was repurposed as a museum by the Pacific Railroad Society.

Just up the hill from the widely-known Carroll Avenue in the Angeleno Heights area of Los Angeles, a sign on Kellam Avenue advises visitors of the “Highest Concentration of Victorian Residences” with references to five LAHCMs.

The Leonis Adobe in Calabasas, one of the oldest surviving residences in the San Fernando Valley, was built some time in the 1840s. Acquired in the mid-1800s by Miguel Leonis, it was where he and his wife, Espiritu, moved in the 1870s.

The cornerstone of the current Monrovia High School was laid in April 1928. The school was built in response to a growing student population after the addition of Duarte in July and Arcadia in November in 1920 to the high school district.

Echo Park Lake in Los Angeles, originally built in the 1860s as a reservoir for drinking water, today functions primarily as a detention basin in the city’s storm drain system, while providing recreational benefits and wildlife habitat.

The Lanterman House in what is now La Cañada Flintridge was built on land purchased in 1875 by Jacob Lanterman. The house, commissioned in 1915 by Jacob’s son, Roy, and built by A. L. Haley, remained in the Lanterman family until 1987.

Charles Morgridge Loring, a Minneapolis businessman, spent his winters in the Riverside area in the late 1800s. In 1889, he commissioned Riverside architect A.C. Willard to design a three-story office block with an adjoining opera house.
