Royer Mansion, Orange, Orange County

Royer Mansion

The Royer Mansion in Orange was built in 1900 for Dr. Daniel Franklin Royer, a distinguished early pioneer of the City. After he died in 1929, the mansion became a mortuary, then changed ownership twice before becoming an office building.

Verbal Building

The Classical Revival Verbal Building at Yale and Second in Claremont, considered one of the finest commercial buildings in the Village, was built in 1912 for the Claremont National Bank. It then served as the Bank of America for many years.

Santa Barbara was on the leading edge of the “historic preservation wave” in the early 1960s. Residential structures in and around the City’s designated and proposed historic districts date from the late 19th century into the 1960s.

Upland Fire House, Upland, San Bernardino County

Upland Fire House

The City of Upland created a formal Fire Department in 1911; the first fire house in the city was built in 1915. The first motorized fire engine was purchased at this time as well. Services were moved to a new Fire Headquarters facility in 1969.
