Faith Bible Church
Faith Bible Church in Northridge was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 1976. When the Carpenter Gothic Victorian style church was built in 1917 in Zelzah by the congregation formed by six families of Norwegian descent that had settled in the area, it was the Zelzah Norsk Evangelisk Luther’s Kirke, or the Norwegian Lutheran Church, the first church built in the town. Zelzah became North Los Angeles and then Northridge; the church was the First Lutheran Church of Northridge before it was Faith Bible Church and the Northridge Free Methodist Church, or the Los Angeles Antioch Church, after that. It is now the Valley Life Baptist Church, part of the Korean Senior Citizen’s Association complex.
