Disneyland

“Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy” Disneyland in Anaheim was the only park, in its original construction, completely overseen by Walt Disney. When Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955, Main Street U.S.A. led visitors to Adventureland, Frontierland, Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. Walt Disney was quoted as saying, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” And grown it has, yet the core of the park that opened in 1955 remains. Much of Main Street U.S.A. from the City Hall and the firehouse up to “Coke Corner” has changed very little. The facades and, in a few cases, locations have changed as have some of the rides themselves, but thirteen of the attractions from opening day are still operating today.
