Pershing Square Building
The Pershing Square Building is an unsung landmark in downtown Los Angeles. While considered by some to be an architectural anchor, along with the Title Guarantee Building, Pacific Mutual Building and Biltore Hotel, of the Pershing Square area, it is relatively unknown compared to the others. It was completed in 1924, built by the prolific architectural team of Claud Beelman and Aleck Curlett in the Italian Renaissance Revival style that features classic design elements, symmetry, arches, and ornamental stone brackets. The building has a total of 16 stories, but only rises 13 stories above Hill Street. With a French-inspired rooftop bistro and an art-filled modern Japanese restaurant on the first floor, the space in between has been renovated and offers “modern Creative Office Spaces” ranging from 950 to 11,500 square feet.
